Drone Network Against Urban Waste Congestion

TrashTron is a drone-based waste surveillance and response system deployed from DSNY garages across the city. These autonomous drones follow pre-mapped fly routes to monitor overflowing bins, illegal dumping, and sanitation hazards. They also respond to trash-related complaints, capturing site-specific data and relaying it to DSNY for faster resolution. Upon detection, they transmit information in real-time to sanitation crews or activate smart signage to alert the public. After completing rounds, the drones return to DSNY hubs for recharging and data upload, creating an efficient feedback loop for cleaner urban environments.
