NYC CrimeEye
NYC CrimeEye
This project proposes a semi-autonomous police drone system designed to support real-time crime monitoring and rapid response in dense urban environments like New York City. The drone, CrimeEye, follows pre-programmed flight paths calibrated to high-risk data points—primarily public school zones and campus areas—allowing it to quickly arrive at reported crime scenes. Upon arrival, it immediately begins recording high-resolution footage for evidentiary and situational assessment purposes. By autonomously navigating the city grid, CrimeEye helps extend the reach of law enforcement, offering a non-lethal, data-driven layer of surveillance focused on child protection and early intervention. The system is conceived not as a replacement for human officers, but as a rapid-response recorder and presence amplifier in vulnerable urban zones.
