FDNY WATER RESCUE DRONE

FDNY WATER RESCUE SQUAD

The water rescue drones are specifically designed to serve the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) and enhance emergency response capabilities in the Manhattan area. These drones are intended to patrol high-risk locations such as public piers, fishing spots, and riverside parks where there is a high probability of accidental water incidents. The primary goal is to provide rapid detection and assistance to individuals who have fallen into the water, significantly improving survival rates and reducing response times.

The drones operate autonomously, continuously monitoring designated patrol areas for any signs of distress. Upon detecting a potential incident, the drone can quickly deploy a flotation device and alert nearby emergency services. Deploying eight to ten drones simultaneously ensures comprehensive coverage of critical areas, enhancing the overall efficiency of the rescue operations. The quick-release mechanisms on the drones allow for precise and rapid deployment of flotation devices, significantly reducing the time it takes to provide assistance.

This innovative approach leverages advanced drone technology to support the FDNY's mission of protecting and serving the community. By patrolling high-risk areas and providing rapid emergency response, these water rescue drones play a crucial role in safeguarding the residents and visitors of Manhattan, making New York City a safer place for everyone.

THE DRONE

The water rescue drones are equipped with advanced thermal imaging and high-resolution cameras, enabling precise detection of individuals in distress. Integrated GPS and real-time mapping systems ensure accurate navigation and efficient patrol routes. The drones are compact and agile, featuring a sleek design with powerful motors and high-efficiency propellers for swift and stable flight. Each drone carries deployable flotation devices, including the RESTUBE Automatic Inflatable Buoy, Kingii Wearable Inflatable Device, and Mustang Survival MD3183 Inflatable PFD. These devices provide immediate buoyancy upon contact with water, ensuring that victims remain afloat until professional rescue teams arrive.
